The 8 inch Croma 1179 tablet is perhaps the cheapest Windows 8.1 tablet in India as of now and comes with an 8 Inch display with 1280 x 820 pixel resolution. The tablet is powered by 1.33 GHz Intel Atom Z3735D quad core processor aided by 2 GB RAM and ample 32 GB storage. The passively cooled chipset follows Intel’s bay trail architecture. The tablet houses a 5000 mAh battery inside. Besides WiFi, you can also avail 3G connectivity via external dongle. For those interested in basic photography 2 MP fixed focus shooter are present on front and back side. Croma is also offering a keyboard case for laptop like functionality, bundled with the box. The 10.1 inch variant- Croma 1177 2-in-1is powered by same internals as its 8 Inch sibling. The larger display will require bigger battery and more pixels to even out but croma has chosen to remain tight lipped for these specifications. The tablet will be a better alternative for those looking for a laptop like functionality. The keyboard case for 10 inch model connects via Bluetooth and appeared significantly better in quality. Both these tablets won’t score high on built quality, but the 8 inch Croma 1179 seems like a good low cost alternative, if you are looking for a Windows 8.1 tablet from productivity point of view.
