More than 838 teams (over 6600 participants) showcased their results and out of these 5 finalists were shortlisted for public voting on knimbus.com and more than 20,000 people in the Science and Technology committee voted for over 1000+ Ideas. The top 5 ideas were presented at IIT Delhi.
Rahul Agarwalla, Founder and CEO, Knimbus, said, “Knimbus believes in driving research and innovative thought at a young age. The quality of the ideas and projects that we have received in the inaugural year of KYI Award has proven that, if nurtured properly, Indian students can truly impact the nation’s progress. The award gives these precocious innovators a platform to showcase their work to a relevant audience and we have partnered with Stern Fisher to ensure that they get the right mentorship to guide the execution of their ideas. Knimbus hopes that KYI inspires more students to dive deeper into their fields of interest and contribute further to India’s research output. We are committed to doing whatever we can to simplify the research process and harness the power of modern technologies to encourage student innovation.” Knimbus will connect the ‘Knimbus Young Innovator’ with industry experts and successful entrepeneurs which would be helpful in honing the winning idea and taking it forward on the execution path. The winners will get to showcase their research to over 1600 platforms and will also win a scholarship of Rs. 25,000. Of course the exposure and prestige associated with the award is what most students hanker for and such platforms are very important to further encourage and nurture valuable young innovators throughout the nation.
