The MiPad comes with a 7.9 inch display which has a resolution of 2048 × 1536 pixels. It translates into a pixel density of 326ppi and gets Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of it. Ticking at its heart is a 2.2 GHz NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor with 192-core Kepler GPU which has showcased in benchmarks that it comes out way better than the Snapdragon 801. It runs on Android based MiUI and Xiaomi will begin the beta testing of the device in June with a launch expected to follow afterwards. The most powerful processor on the block joins hands with a 2GB RAM. Internal storage options stand at 16GB and 64GB with the ability to expand the same by another 128GB via a microSD card being made available too. Connectivity will be taken care of by Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 though final unit may add a 3G/4G LTE option too. At the rear of the tablet is an 8MP rear camera with Sony BSI sensor and f/2.0 aperture for better low light recording and imaging. It has support for 1080p video recording and it is coupled with a 5MP front camera which comes shod with a f/2.0 aperture. Giving the juice to run to the tablet is a 6,700 mAh battery unit. Xiaomi MiPad has been launched in white, blue, green, yellow and pink colouurs. With such a capable spec sheet and price equal to peanuts, the tablet is expected to create a lot of waves in the tablet arena and a lot of trouble for the iPad Mini. Xiaomi has not entered the Indian market officially and has announced an arrival soon. If this tablet comes to India, a lot of other tablets are going to run for cover.
